# Add multiple MCP clients into one server

> Connect several MCP clients to one Zapier MCP server so they use the same apps and skills, and consolidate your servers into one.

You can connect several MCP clients to one Zapier MCP server. If you already have a single-client server for each MCP client, you can consolidate them into one multi-client server by moving the clients onto it.

On a multi-client server, every MCP client uses the same apps, actions, skills, and [mode](/mcp/manage/switch-modes). You set them up and review tool call history in one place, so changes apply to every MCP client.

If you want an MCP client to keep its own tools and skills, leave it on its own server.

## Before you begin

* A Zapier [MCP server](/mcp/overview/how-servers-work) to add your MCP clients to.
* Owner or Editor [access to the server](/mcp/manage/server-access) you want to use.

## 1. Choose the server to use

1. Go to [mcp.zapier.com](https://mcp.zapier.com). The MCP servers list shows how many clients, apps, and skills each server has.
2. Select the server you want to add your MCP clients to. This is your multi-client server.

Zapier keeps your existing servers as they are. Zapier creates a [default server](/mcp/overview/how-servers-work#single-client-and-multi-client-servers) the first time you connect a new MCP client, and you can use that one as your multi-client server.

## 2. Rename the multi-client server (optional)

A clear name makes it easier to recognize the server you are adding clients to.

1. Select the <img src="https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/3451c46a93d480da52444589a8fc84ff.png" alt="settings icon" noZoom style={{ display: "inline-block", width: "14px", margin: "0 0.15em", verticalAlign: "baseline" }} /> **Settings** tab.
2. In **Server name**, enter a new name that shows this server holds several clients.
3. Click **Save changes**.

## 3. Add each MCP client to the multi-client server

Repeat these steps for every MCP client you want on the multi-client server.

1. Select the <img src="https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/7256d5cb56cc7b3aef8cf2af5eefb0f8.png" alt="share icon" noZoom style={{ display: "inline-block", width: "14px", margin: "0 0.15em", verticalAlign: "baseline" }} /> **Clients** tab.
2. Click **Connect client**.
3. Search for the MCP client, or select it from the list.
4. If you have not connected this MCP client before, follow its setup steps.
5. If an OAuth MCP client is already connected to another server, Zapier asks you to swap it over. Click **Swap client**.
6. If an MCP client that uses a connection token is already set up, replace its server URL and `Authorization` header with the ones from the <img src="https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/3451c46a93d480da52444589a8fc84ff.png" alt="settings icon" noZoom style={{ display: "inline-block", width: "14px", margin: "0 0.15em", verticalAlign: "baseline" }} /> **Settings** tab of the multi-client server. Each server has its own token and server URL.

The MCP client now appears in the <img src="https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/7256d5cb56cc7b3aef8cf2af5eefb0f8.png" alt="share icon" noZoom style={{ display: "inline-block", width: "14px", margin: "0 0.15em", verticalAlign: "baseline" }} /> **Clients** tab of the multi-client server. An MCP client can connect to only one server, so adding it here disconnects it from its previous server.

The MCP client now uses the multi-client server's [mode](/mcp/manage/switch-modes), even if its previous server used a different mode.

## 4. Add tools with a tool bundle (optional)

A [tool bundle](/mcp/get-started/tool-bundles) is a link that shares the apps and actions you use on a server. You can also use one to carry the setup from a single-client server onto your multi-client server. Repeat these steps for each single-client server you are consolidating.

1. [Create a tool bundle link](/mcp/get-started/tool-bundles#share-a-tool-bundle) for the single-client server that has the tools.
2. Open the link.
3. Select your multi-client server.
4. Connect your own app accounts for each tool if Zapier asks.

## 5. Move skills to the multi-client server (optional)

If you want to use [skills](/mcp/manage/skills) from your single-client servers on your multi-client server, you can add them. Repeat these steps for each skill you want to move over.

1. Open the single-client server that has the skill, then select the <img src="https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/a717c74e86bc44a5972032479b80d5a9.png" alt="skills icon" noZoom style={{ display: "inline-block", width: "14px", margin: "0 0.15em", verticalAlign: "baseline" }} /> **Skills** tab.
2. Copy the skill's Markdown.
3. [Add the skill](/mcp/manage/skills#create-a-skill) to the multi-client server.

## 6. Delete servers you no longer need (optional)

After MCP clients have moved into your multi-client server, you can delete their single-client servers.

<Note>
Deleting a server cannot be undone.
</Note>

1. Open a single-client server you moved an MCP client from.
2. Select the <img src="https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/3451c46a93d480da52444589a8fc84ff.png" alt="settings icon" noZoom style={{ display: "inline-block", width: "14px", margin: "0 0.15em", verticalAlign: "baseline" }} /> **Settings** tab.
3. Click **Delete**.
4. In the confirmation dialog, click **Delete** followed by the server name.
