# A specific app is not working

> Fix a broken app connection on your Zapier MCP server when a specific app stops working in your AI client.

If a specific app stops working in your AI client when using Zapier MCP, the app connection on your MCP server likely needs attention.

## Symptom

A specific app is not working in your AI client. An alert icon ![alertCircleFill](https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/9de84813ec88a1a289eeb6d4232fdf69.png) appears next to the app on your MCP server.

## Causes

* The app connection has expired and needs to be reauthenticated.
* The app's API permissions were revoked from the third-party service.
* The tool is misconfigured on your MCP server.

## How to fix it

    In the left sidebar of the [Zapier MCP dashboard](https://mcp.zapier.com/), select your server.

    Find apps with an alert icon ![alertCircleFill](https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/9de84813ec88a1a289eeb6d4232fdf69.png) beside their name.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the app menu">
    Select the **menu icon** ![navMoreHoriz](https://cdn.zapier.com/storage/photos/c75ae81dbb8902b98f7d575b0468f608.png) beside the app name.

  <Step title="Reauthenticate">
    Select **Update authentication** and follow the prompts.
  </Step>
