Connection issues with your Zapier MCP server are usually caused by network problems, an outdated MCP client, or an expired connection token. This article covers how to diagnose and resolve each cause.

Symptom

Your MCP client cannot reach your Zapier MCP server, or the connection takes too long and times out.

Causes

  • Your network or browser is blocking the connection.
  • Your MCP client is out of date.
  • Your connection token has expired or changed.

How to fix it

Try one or more of the following:
  • Confirm your device has an active internet connection by loading another website in your browser.
  • Verify that mcp.zapier.com loads correctly in your browser.
  • Update your MCP client to the latest version.
  • If you are using an unlisted MCP client with a connection token, regenerate your connection token and reconnect.
