You can give other people in your Zapier account access to your MCP server. Depending on the role you assign, they can check your server configuration and history, or help manage the tools on it. Server access applies to all MCP servers.
Server access is available on Team and Enterprise plans. To share your tool configuration with users on other plans or outside your account, use tool bundles instead.
Managing server access does not let other users connect to or use your server with their AI client. Only the server owner can connect an AI client to the server. To help someone set up their own working server with the same tools, share a tool bundle instead.

Roles and permissions

RolePermissions
OwnerFull control: add tools, authenticate tools, and manage access. Assigned to the person who created the server.
EditorCan add or remove tools. Cannot authenticate tools or change app connections.
View onlyCan view the server’s tools and tool call history. Cannot make changes.
Account owners and super admins on your Zapier account have access to all MCP servers by default.
IT oversight: An IT admin asks team members to add them as an editor. This gives the admin visibility into configured tools and the ability to remove tools that should not be there.Onboarding assistance: A team lead with editor access can add recommended tools to a new hire’s server. The new hire authenticates each tool themselves.

Give someone access to your server

  1. Go to mcp.zapier.com and select your server.
  2. In the top right of the page, click the menu icon and select Edit access.
  3. In the Add member or team section, search for the person by name or email and select them.
  4. Click the role dropdown and select Editor or View only.
  5. Click Add.
After you add someone, your server will appear in their server list at mcp.zapier.com. They will not receive a notification.

Give all account members the same access level

By default, your server is not shared with anyone in your Zapier account. To give all members the same access level:
  1. Go to mcp.zapier.com and select your server.
  2. In the top right of the page, click the menu icon and select Edit access.
  3. Next to Anyone at [your account], click the role dropdown.
  4. Select Editor or View only.

Add tools as an editor

  2. Click + Add tool.
  3. Search for and select the app you want.
  4. Select the checkbox next to each tool you want to add.

Change or remove someone’s access

  1. Go to mcp.zapier.com and select your server.
  2. Click the menu icon in the top right and select Edit access.
  3. Next to the person whose access you want to update, click the role dropdown.
  4. Select a new role, or select Remove to revoke access.

Use server access when you want teammates to help build or oversee a single shared server. Use a tool bundle when you want someone to have their own independent server with the same tools.

Limitations

  • Server access works only with members of your Zapier account. To share tools with someone outside your account, use tool bundles.
  • Editors cannot authenticate tools on the owner’s behalf. Tools added by an editor must be authenticated by the owner before they can be used.
